Christy Jordan shares some hard earned wisdom on how to avoid falling into a ditch as we grow and mature in our faith.

I’m at around a half century of living now and so I’m claiming the privilege of a matriarch and gonna share some things I’ve learned in my time here.
At times, while walking out your faith, your flesh will tempt you to look down on others who are not walking out their faith as you are. Don’t give into the flesh. Love them instead.
The Father may give you a new bit of wisdom that leaves you excited, as it should, but then your flesh will tempt you to look at others without that wisdom as lesser than in some way. Don’t give into the flesh, love them instead.
After having lived decades thinking you’re living according to the word and then actually reading it and realizing you are not, with the Father’s help you will then seek to line your life up to the word, which will inevitably bring about some changes.
At this point, You may be tempted to look at others who are where you just were five spiritual minutes ago and think that you are more advanced than them. At this point many of us will even go on a mini speaking tour and explain to everyone how wrong they are in light of how right we are. Guess what? You are still wrong, just in ways the Father hasn’t shown you yet.
Now, The reason you have yet to be shown is because our Father is a merciful God and refining is a process, not a single step.
So here’s the deal:
-At no point in our life will any of us be 100% right. That privilege belongs solely to the Father.
-At no point in our life will any of us have ever advanced to the level of being able to endow upon ourselves all the rights and privileges of our Messiah.
-At no point in our life will any of us ever be able to say, “I’ve learned all I can from the Bible.”
So go easy on your judgement of others, or the measure in which we judge is what will be meted out to us.
Any wisdom we have is merely a product of being closer to the source of wisdom, and if we credit ourselves with that wisdom rather than the Father (being wise in our own eyes), He will take us down a few pegs pretty quickly.
Learn to recognize the symptoms of leading by flesh rather than spirit. And know that our default is flesh so we must always be careful and vigilant. The only time we need to be looking down on others is if we are giving them a hand up.
Love more.
Judge less.
He has shown us so much grace, it is a small thing for us to show it to others.
Loving Him means loving them.
Until next time,
May we bring further honor and glory to Him in all our words and deeds.
