Something About That Name

Donna shares an emotional message, sure to touch your heart, about the most precious name we can call upon.

-Transcript Below-

I remember the first time I found out I was going to be a parent. Oh the joy and excitement! Back when I had my daughter, you didn’t get to know if you were having a boy or a girl, so you had to come up with two sets of names.

Our names are one of the first markers of our identity and, kind of like a map, they locate us in the time and even the place where we were born. So in some ways, they’re kind of like a compass.

Proverbs 22:1 says

“A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, loving favor rather than silver and gold.“

But the sweetest name I know is Jesus/Yeshua.

Philippians 2:9-11 says

“So the name of Jesus is above all names. At the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.”

All for the glory of the Father.  Everyone will know His name and confess that He is the one and only.

But what’s in His name?

There is power in the name.

There is truth.

There is righteousness.

There is refuge.

There is healing.

There is redemption.

There is shelter, mercy, grace, and love.

His name is that of a friend, brother, Father, and God.

There is no name other than Jesus under heaven, by which man can be saved.

Your name is so important and unique to you. Abba knows us by our name and loves us so intimately that He knows every hair on our head. By calling on the Father’s name, we’re inviting Him to be in our presence. At the first sound of His name he’s paying attention and is immediately right where we are. He’s there standing right next to us through the storms and trials of life. We’re never alone. It doesn’t matter the time of day or the hour. He’s always on call, ready, and waiting.

Jesus, Jesus there’s just something about that name.

Until next time keep your feet on the narrow path. I love y’all.
