2 Chronicles 2:1 Depending on your translation, you may read “Solomon purposed to build a temple…” or “Solomon decided to build…”
or “Solomon determined to build…”

Either way, I think the meaning is the same. He set his mind to do this thing. He did not follow his heart (which is deceitful of all things and can change with the wind Jeremiah 17:9). He did not base this decision on a whim. He set his mind to do this and went forward with his decision and determination leading ahead of all else.

Most of following the Father is purposing to do it. Setting our minds upon Him and determining to follow His leading, regardless.

Know that within the “regardless” lies interference from places where you least expect it. Just remind yourself that you are following God, not people. You are seeking to please Him, not them, and Messiah is our example, not other people’s ideas of Messiah. Our help, guidance, and wisdom comes from YHWH. People who live by the Book will always be at odds with people who don’t want to be bothered to read it.

2 Chronicles 2:10 a “Bath” is a Hebrew Measurement. As far as I can tell, each bath is about 22 liters. So this is about 440,000 liters of oil.

2 Chronicles 4:6 This “sea” referred to here that was set aside for the priests to wash in held approximately 12000 gallons of water, which is about what you’d think of when you imagine an above ground swimming pool at someone’s house.

2 Chronicles 4:7 Recall that when we see “lampstand” in the Bible they are referencing what we know as “menorahs”. The Menorah was designed by YHWH Himself for use in His temple. He gave us instructions on how to make them in Exodus 25:31. Modern day manmade tradition has taught us to dismiss these things designed by YHWH and replace them with symbols that appear nowhere in the Biblical texts. This is a pattern of the world: To replace things of YHWH with manmade counterfeits and declare them to be better. We’ve fallen for this time and time again. Just because you’ve fallen for something doesn’t mean you can’t get up!

2 Chronicles 5:10 “There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses put there at Horeb, where YHWH made a covenant with the People of Israel, when they came out of Egypt”

We discussed in the comments back in 1 Kings the Hebrews 9:4 account that says there was also a jar of manna and Aaron’s staff within the Ark.

However, in Numbers 17:10-11 and Exodus 16:33-34 the text says that these things were placed “before” the ark, not in it. With there being now three accounts saying that the only thing within the ark were the two tablets I’m going with the principle of three witnesses (https://www.openbible.info/topics/two_or_three_witnesses). Hebrews could be a translation error or a misunderstanding of the Scribe.
Either way, I always fall back on the authority of the foundational texts of YHWH, also known as the books of Moses, the Pentateuch, or the Torah.

And our reading today ends with the GLORY OF YHWH filling the temple!!!!

13 and it was the duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard in unison in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord), and when the song was raised, with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the Lord,

“For he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever,”

the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of YHWH filled the house of God. 2 Chronicles 5:13-14

May His glory fill us as we live our lives for His kingdom!

Test everything, hold tight to what is good.~ 1 Thess 5:21

We are saved by Grace alone: Obedience is not the root of our salvation, it is the fruit!

May YHWH bless the reading of His Word!
