How long should we continue sharing the truths we are learning & how we are changing with people who perhaps don’t really seem interested in hearing about it or changing for themselves? Should we continue bringing it up over and over in hopes of planting a seed? At what point are we simply beating a dead horse?

Shalom sibling,

This is a good question.  Something to ask ourselves is, why do we think that this is the definition of planting seeds and that if this doesn’t work we are to walk away?

Often bringing the truth up over and over simply makes people dig in their heels and want nothing to do with what we are trying to share with them.  I have been walking this out for a long time now, and what I see is, if a person isn’t seeking, then they won’t find – no matter how well or how often the information is presented to them (consider the parable of the soil).

By seeking to be an example of walking as Messiah walked, we will show others the Father’s love by genuinely loving them.  Consider, even though Messiah knew that Judas would betray him, he still loved him first.  This is the standard we need to be following.

What does this look like for us? This looks like generous acts of love and kindness.

Seek to help people in ways that they can feel loved, such as taking time to notice if someone needs help.  If your neighbor’s lawn is tall for example, go out and mow it or if you know someone that seems to be struggling in another way, go help them out.

Personally, I think the very best witness we can give is simply to walk as our Messiah walked.  As we do this, we will build relationships and create a safe environment for them to come to us and ask what it is that makes us different from the whole world around us and how they can get that, to0.

When the world is negative, cruel and unloving, we should be all the more positive, kind, and loving.  As we exhibit the fruits of the spirit, people will be attracted to our light.  Our goal should be to build bridges by building relationships.

It is my opinion, that through building relationships we are building the kingdom.

I hope this helps.
