As believers, it can often be challenging to align our hearts with God’s.Â
There is an acronym, G -R -O -W, Grow, that I’ve found to be a very helpful tool in this endeavor.
This acronym consists of four essential pillars,
Gratitude
Repentance
Others
And worship.
Each of these pillars serves as a tool that can guide us toward a deeper connection with the Father. So let’s talk about them *smile*
First up is G for Gratitude. Through gratitude, we learn to appreciate the abundance and blessings the Father gives us but gratitude also helps us to change our perspective and see His hand in every situation. As we are instructed in 1 Thess 5;18 “ give thanks in all circumstances.”Â
Next is R for repentance. Through repentance, we recognize the need to confront our sins embrace the opportunity to receive His grace and forgiveness, offering us the chance to turn back to Him and His ways.
Third, we have O for Others. The act of serving others aligns with the very heart of God. Consider Messiah washing the feet of his disciples. We, too, are called to love our neighbors as ourselves and to have a servant’s heart. When we step out and actively love our neighbors by serving them, we not only develop relationships with them, but we are also building on our relationship with God.
Last but certainly not least, we have W for Worship. Through worship, we find solace and communion, nurturing our most important relationship with the Father, and thereby enriching our souls.
I have found that the GROW model, Gratitude, Repentance, Others, and Worship has been an extremely helpful tool to have in my arsenal as I continue to mature spiritually and strive to walk in the footsteps of our Messiah.
I hope you found this helpful. Until next time remember, if you seek Him, He will be found.Â
