Rabbit Trails

Today I want to change the question a bit.
I know we’ve been thinking of how can we best handle trials, tribulations, how the Father can comfort us during these, how we can trust him, lean on him, keep our faith strong.

But today I want to ask the question:
How can we serve and honor our King in all things?

When we are frustrated – How can I serve my King?

When we are irritated in a moment – How can I serve my King?

When we are anxious about something – How can I serve my King?

When we are belittled, beaten down, in emotional or physical pain – these are moments that we can take to stop and change the question, whatever it may be, to

How can I serve my King?

In these moments, when distractions, stress, anxiety, depression, and hardships are most able to take our thoughts away from the Father, if we will just stop and ask this question – any power the adversary holds over us in that moment immediately dissipates as the glory, honor, power, and joy of the Lord takes over.

It is so important to surround yourself with friends who are truly seeking the Father. I know that we should also have friends that we are mentoring, but for our inner circle we need the iron sharpens iron friends who will sit and pray with us, not condemn us, who will seek His face, not call down His wrath.

How do you get these friends? You pray for them. They are a gift, a blessing, that the father wants to give us when the time is right (as determined by His wisdom) to do so. If you do not yet have these friends in your life, then He is preparing you for them and so seek the lessons for your present that the Father will then use to prepare you for your future.

So as we read Job today, we’ll see more condemnation from his friends, continued faith (along with confusion) from Job, and more and more opportunities to ask ourselves: How can I serve my King?

Let’s pray for one another today. Specifically, I want to pray that each of us in this group will have friends in our lives that point us back to the Father. I pray for groups of 2 or 3 (or more, as the Father sees fit) that will pray for one another, encourage one another, and build one another up in the wisdom of the Father.

We have a wonderful community here – and as it is here, may the Father make it so in our daily interactions as well.

Today, let us focus on prayer for one another and prayers of thanks giving to the Father for all that He is.

Test everything, hold tight to what is good.~ 1 Thess 5:21

We are saved by Grace alone: Obedience is not the root of our salvation, it is the fruit!

May YHWH bless the reading of His Word!
