Psalm 141

A Psalm of David – What an accomplished man!  He was a shepherd, musician, mighty warrior, and a poet.  We also know of his imperfections, but that The Father considered him a man after His own heart.  Something David says in Psalm 141 makes me think of current circumstances for those of us who are walking the narrow path in these times.

David says, “May my prayer be set before You like incense. May the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.” (Ps 141:2)

It would seem that David was in a situation where perhaps he could not be at the tabernacle where incense would have been burned…or able to contribute to the evening sacrifice.  So wisely, David knew to lift up his prayer and his praise.

The Father has always desired our obedience and whole heartedness first and foremost.  See:

So, let’s get our hearts right and lift our prayers and our hands to The Father!

Psalm 142

David is on the run from King Saul at this time.  Notice David’s motive for wanting to be rescued…”So I may praise Your Name.” (Psalm 142:7). Wow. That needs to be how my prayers go.

Father, please rescue us, so that WE May Praise Your Name!

Psalm 143- Have you ever been really thirsty?  I mean mow the yard, walk in the desert, day on the beach thirsty?  Do we thirst for YHVH?

My soul longs for You as a parched land. (Psalm 143:6)

May we be long for The Father this much!

Psalm 144- Here we are confronted with YHVH as my “Rock” again.  How’s your foundation, Family? Are you building on the Solid Rock?  Messiah made a BIG DEAL of this and how it would be those who DO and not just passively hear that will weather the storm.  (Storms come to all). You may enjoy reading this about that.

Psalm 145 – This Psalm has so much comfort in it!  Look at the mighty God we serve!

He is

And so much more!

This is revolutionary, Family!  The gods of the nations were/are malevolent.  They were not gracious, compassionate, or slow to anger.  We serve an AMAZING God!!!!

My notes are brief today but I look forward to reading your insights and what really jumped out to you in the comments in our Facebook groups.

Test everything, hold tight to what is good.~ 1 Thess 5:21

We are saved by Grace alone: Obedience is not the root of our salvation, it is the fruit!

May YHWH bless the reading of His Word!
