Rabbit Trails

But I am like a green olive tree
in the house of God.
I trust in the steadfast love of God
forever and ever.
I will thank you forever,
because you have done it.
I will wait for your name, for it is good,
in the presence of the godly.
Psalm 52:8-9

As my soul thinks over the past few years and all of the changes that the Father has made in my life and in my heart, I cannot stress enough two very important things that I want you to know about me:

1. There is not a single speck of my life that hasn’t been changed for the better as a direct result of dedicating myself to reading the whole word of YHWH. He. Has. Changed. Everything.

2. YHWH has given me a strong and clear purpose right now and that purpose is to get as many people as possible to read His word firsthand, for themselves.

With that in mind, I want to ask a great favor of you today.

In place of reading my notes, will you please pause for a few minutes and pray over everyone reading through the Bible with us?

Like each of us once were, many of our brothers and sisters in this group have never read the entirety of His word. Even at this point, some may be feeling a bit overwhelmed, some may be feeling discouraged that they’ve been a believer so long and so much of the Word is new to them, some may not feel up to the challenge, and some may be overshadowed by concern that they will fall behind or even fall away from reading before the year is out.

I know we are all excited, though. Do you remember when you started? Like me, I doubt you realized the wondrous journey that was before you. I had worshipped YHWH my entire life, but meeting Him, personally, face to face in His Word still causes me to lose my breath sometimes. There was so much I had missed simply because I didn’t open the book. I want all of our brothers and sisters to feel and know the majesty of the full weight of His Word.

Please join me in praying that we will continue to offer Him a blank slate and allow His Word to carry more weight than any other words we will ever hear. Let us pray that everyone in our group now and those who will join us in the future will feel welcomed and loved and valued in the Fellowship and that they will have the courage to speak up, even if it is just to say “good morning” so that we can get to know their names, their faces, and pray for them personally.

Mostly, please pray that all Believers will develop this vital daily habit of opening the book and spending time in the Word. Pray that the Spirit will guide them and when they realize how much they’ve missed, that they won’t feel frustrated or behind. Instead, pray that they have the assurance that the Father is leading them, teaching them, and guiding them through His word. That He will reveal it bit by bit to them, in His timing. Pray that they keep their books open and their eyes on Him. That they neither turn to the left nor to the right, but follow diligently in the footsteps of our Messiah.

And most importantly, pray that they see our Messiah’s footprints from Genesis to Revelation.

Please join me today in praying that everyone in our group now and in the future feels all the welcome one should feel at coming home and that this little community will continue to grow and flourish, to His glory.

He has placed a wonderful gift before us in His word. May we open it each day, trust in what it says, and order our lives after His instruction.

Test everything, hold tight to what is good.~ 1 Thess 5:21

We are saved by Grace alone: Obedience is not the root of our salvation, it is the fruit!

May YHWH bless the reading of His Word!
