Ricky Jordan reminds us that true strength isn’t found in having it all together, but in letting go and trusting God to carry what we can’t.

When we think of strength, we usually picture someone who’s in control, self-sufficient, standing tall—never needing help.
But in God’s kingdom, strength looks very different.
In 2 Corinthians 12, the apostle Paul talks about a “thorn in his flesh”—something painful and persistent. He begged God three times to take it away. And what did God say?
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
That flips the world’s definition of strength on its head. Paul doesn’t say, “So I pulled myself together.” He says, “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
See, we think surrender is losing – giving up. But in God’s eyes, surrender is where real strength begins.
-When we stop pretending we have it all together,
-When we stop trying to fix everything in our own power,
-When we admit we need help…
That’s when God steps in.
I’ve found that the times I’ve been strongest spiritually weren’t when everything was going well—but when I was at the end of myself, with nothing left but trust in Him. That’s where His power shows up—right in our weakness.
Maybe today you’re holding something tightly—fear, control, pride, even a struggle you’re trying to fix on your own.
Let me encourage you: Lay it down.
There’s strength in saying, “God, I can’t—but You can.”
Because the world tells us to be tough.
Jesus tells us to trust.
Let’s stop trying to be our own savior, and start letting the real Savior do what only He can.
There is strength—real strength—in surrender.
