    In reading 2 Thes. 3 and the oft quoted passage about earning our own way, and if one is not willing to work, they shouldn’t be fed, these admonition from Paul seem not to line up with Jesus’ many directions to take care to feed the hungry, clothe the poor, love thy neighbor as thy self. In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus tells us not to be worried about where our next meal is coming from, or about what we shall wear. I always have felt there is a tension there.

      I agree. I think this is another reminder for us that Paul’s letter are written to a specific people, addressing specific problems. I can only imagine how our understanding of them would grow were we able to read the letters he was replying to. ❤️
