The goal of SeekingScripture.com (discerned through much prayer) is to help us all grow closer to the Father through daily reading of His Word. However, it is only natural that some would be curious as to my personal faith so I thought I’d provide a little info on that.
My name is Christy Jordan. I’ve traveled a winding road to get here and many of you have been on that road with me for the past eleven years, but you’ll learn more of that as we go forward. For now, the important information is that I am a Believer. I am saved by the Grace of YHWH through faith in my precious Messiah, His son. The Messiah is my ultimate example of how to live and so I study the Word of God and follow His example as closely as I am able.
I see the whole bible as relevant and wholly applicable to our lives today and I am excited to be able to read it each day as the Father leads us to grow in knowledge of Him and in deeper relationship with Him.
We (my husband and I) are not a member of any denomination. Growing up, I went to mostly Baptist churches and Ricky and I were active members of a non denominational church until several years ago. We now study the Bible on our own, together, with our family, and several times a month we meet with a group of like minded Believers who have a heart and desire to study the Word.
We (you and I) are each on an individual path, laid out by our Father, and my goal is not to get you to walk the path I am on – but to encourage you on your own path.
We may do some things differently, and from time to time we may read the same text and see different things there, but we are of one accord in many things and we are all family, sharing the same wonderful Father.
If you have other questions about what I believe, I encourage you to join us as we study the Word together as I’m not the standard – but He certainly is!

About our groups: I run two groups on Facebook.
Our primary group is the Front Porch Fellowship. In this group we read through the entire Bible together, from Genesis to Revelation. Our reading cycle begins in January year and there is a relatively short window of time that we admit new members before our reading begins. The purpose of this is to build our foundational knowledge of Scripture together as we move forward.
If you would like to join this group, I strongly recommend that you request to join now and answer the new member questions. In doing that, you’ll be among the first ones added when membership opens up again. This group currently has over 14,000 members and our highly active daily discussion threads are full of wonderful information, insight, and encouragement to help develop a daily relationship with the Word.
Our second group is the Torah Writing Project. This group is open to anyone and new members are admitted throughout the year.
The Torah is simply the foundational Scriptures of our Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy. In Deuteronomy 17:18-20, the future Kings of Israel are instructed to write out their own copy of the Torah.
18 “Also it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites. 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes, 20 that his heart may not be lifted above his brethren, that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children in the midst of Israel.
Many believers are feeling a desire to do the same so my husband and I worked out a plan for it. Using our printable checklist, if you complete one passage per week, you’ll be finished writing the Torah in two years. If you complete two per week, one year. However, I purposefully left it undated so that you can start at any time and simply write a passage as time permits or as you feel led. This is a no pressure plan. The Facebook group is a great place to share your progress, view the progress of others, ask questions about supplies everyone is using, etc. Note that this Facebook group is not a Bible discussion group. ALL GLORY TO THE KING!
May YHWH bless the reading of His word!
