In the Father’s word, we are told the children of Israel faced many conflicts, battles, and wars. One of the most famous battles was led by David when he battled a Philistine force led by a giant named Goliath. Abba told the Israelites that they would have to battle towns and cities to conquer and inherit the land that he had promised to Abraham in a covenant. Abraham’s descendants would be as numerous as the stars. Abba gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.

But what about our personal battles? Are we left to our own devices to fight them alone? The Father goes before us and fights our battles. What a comfort that is to me, that I have someone on my side.
His word says in Deuteronomy 20:3-4 ESV
“Hear O Israel! You are about to do battle with your enemies. Don’t be fainthearted or afraid; don’t be alarmed or frightened by them; because the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory.”

The Father is always going to get the victory and glory for whatever we may face in life. Sickness, financial ruin, tragedies, family issues, and death. There is nothing impossible for him, even if we can’t see a way out. He’s working behind the scenes. His name will be glorified and praised.

Should we be silent and sit on the sidelines when we’re facing a battle? NO!! We’re to read his word and to be in prayer at all times. We’re to take up the WHOLE armor of God, not just part of it. You don’t leave some of the ingredients out when baking a cake and expect to get the same results. Ephesians 6:13-17 says:

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,”

Do you realize that we’re covered from our head to the soles of our feet? That’s powerful y’all!

The belt of truth is the Father because He is truth. The breastplate of righteousness is hearing and obeying his word. Shoes for your feet is Shalom that comes from being his child and he’s with us wherever we go. The shield of faith gives me goosebumps when I read this one. That’s faith that is rock solid and unshakeable, unmovable and is deep within your being. The helmet of salvation is his grace that he has given us. And the sword of the spirit, no one can disprove the word of God.

We need to stand firm and be fully equipped when the adversary raises his ugly head. His fiery darts will bounce off our shields of faith. So be watchful and on guard at all times. Let’s suit up every morning like a soldier for the Father’s army and be ready at a moment’s notice for battle. We need to sound off our battle cry “Rak Chazak!”
