Good Morning, Siblings!

Rabbit Trails

The Father gives us such clear wisdom in His Word. Then, throughout His word He gives examples of this wisdom being put to use in the attitudes of the people who seek Him. Today we see that in David’s statement of “I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites. I hate the assembly of evildoers and I will not sit with the wicked.” (Psalms 26:4-5)

Recall that the Father not only tells us what to do but He also instructs us on what NOT to do. We are called to be Hearers and Doers of the word, not hearers only. It does us no good to know the Bible forwards and backwards, to know YHWH’s name and to call ourselves by it if we do not apply His word to our lives and live by His instructions.

22 Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to his word; instead, put it into practice. 23 If you listen to the word, but do not put it into practice you are like people who look in a mirror and see themselves as they are. 24 They take a good look at themselves and then go away and at once forget what they look like. 25 But if you look closely into the perfect law that sets people free, and keep on paying attention to it and do not simply listen and then forget it, but put it into practice—you will be blessed by God in what you do. James 1:22-25

Psalm 27 brings to mind one of my favorite worship songs. Video below.

My spirit is loving reading all of this praise of our Father!

  • You have said to me “Seek my face”
My heart says to you,
”Your face, YHWH, do I seek”
Psalm 27:8
  • Teach me your way YHWH, and lead me on a level path
    Psalm 27:11
He has taught us the way, but we have to choose to walk in it. What happens when we do not? When we disregard Him or call Him God but do not give Him the rightful place in our lives? Psalms 28:5 offers some insight.
  • You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me in gladness.
Psalm 30:11
  • You are my God, my times are in your hand.
Psalm 31:14-15
  • OH HOW ABUNDANT IS YOUR GOODNESS!
Psalm 31:19

I’d love to hear your favorites from today’s reading and any insight you’d like to share in the comments today.

Test everything, hold tight to what is good.~ 1 Thess 5:21

We are saved by Grace alone: Obedience is not the root of our salvation, it is the fruit!

May YHWH bless the reading of His Word!
